As reported over on Reddit by a lot of disgruntled gamers, one of the biggest issues with the performance of Borderlands 3 on PC is it stuttering. For example, if you’re using a computer that barely meets the system requirements for Borderlands 3, the game can be quite laggy, just like you’re playing a slideshow on PC or something. HOLY FUCK FINALLY I CAN ENJOY THIS GAME. I did everything you said to do in this guide except for suspending Antimalware and it made my FPS go from 45 to 80. Awesome! Press Enter on your keyboard and wait till the process is completed. in options the settings is correct but it doesnt cap the fps. Tried this, however after suspending MsMpEngs.exe my whole system just goes to limbo, infinite loadingscreens etc. Now check to see if your Borderlands 3 is still laggy. First I switched to DX12, to get around the long loading screens I deleted the 'Loading' movie in Borderlands3\OakGame\Content\Movies. Although, one thing is that loading times are noticeable longer but I don’t care as long as the game runs smoother. I have a 7700 and 2070 with 16gb of ram and having stutters also. (also removed the annoying gearbox video). I got it to work the first time I booted it up again but it replayed the amd intro a few times then worked. I set everything to Very Low than kicked up Texture Streaming to High. Found that I can still run pretty well at Medium/High but I prefer stability over the subtle visual improvements. i have almost the same setup (gtx 1080, i7 7700k, ram at 3000mhz) and i get about 120 fps with dx11, also whats annonying af is that fps cap gets resetted everytime your start the game. Note that there’s a space between “ipconfig” and “/”. It seems that Borderlands 3 has some optimisation problems particularly on certain setups regarding the streaming in of textures, and a number of players noticed that whatever the game was attempting to do in the background with textures while you played was contributing significantly to the stuttering issues. I set Texture Streaming to HIGH and immediately saw and increase in performance. This guy found a temporary fix for ADS stutter. I make no secret that I like Borderlands 3. You name it! The place for everything Borderlands 3! Thank you so much. Simply set the game to fullscreen instead of windowed full and viola, no more stuttering. The only UE game that I know has good performance are the Gears of War games. This is said to be a … I’m staying at a stable 90 FPS but I’m constantly getting stutters and it’s really hard to enjoy the game at the moment. :]. Now it’s just looping that intro over and over. And they were made by Epic themselves. Idk how to check my fps but it runs smooth AF on my 1440 144hz screen. I'm really glad it actually helped someone! i thought it was just me, i had to stop playing because it was so bad. Idk why but everytime I scoped in I got a lag spike. After all it is a UE4 game and they tend to have really bad performance and stuttering. Edit: One more thing, I deleted the Loading and Gearbox logo videos from the movies folder but that made my game not respond and then infinitely play the AMD logo video over and over and over so I returned the Loading and gearbox videos back and then the game loaded fine so if that’s happening to you, just put the Loading and Gearbox logo movies back. Actual lifesaver, thank you so much. There's an option in the menu to turn on a performance counter thing. yeah I'm at a steady 80 fps and specifically any time I use a scope it stutters heavily. For some reason I only get the scope lag when I play FL4K, when I play my Zane it doesn't happen, I'm getting it with or without vsync, with low or ultra setting, and fullscreen or borderless fullscreen My drivers are up to date I can run the game at around 60-80 fps at ultra. Search for the yt channel Hardware Unboxed to see what settings are eating up your fps. That’s what confuses me, why does changing the settings from Ultra to very low make zero difference? ipconfig /flushdns. They made a great video about the graphics settings of Borderlands 3. Same! (also removed the annoying gearbox video). full screen is a great way to get better fps, no idea why borderless is their default, When you deleted those loading screens, does the game start up properly?
