A very cheap dynamic won’t give you that air, probably, by itself, and your voice may sound a little plain and less vibrant, but then, again, I’ve listened to tons of professional records with just that sound, and not much dynamic, paradoxically, so the pulse of the voice was a bit off – maybe that’s also the singer – but the record is still there and it sound just fine.
